What Is the Kitsap Reading Trail?

The Kitsap Reading Trail is a fun, self-paced summer reading experience designed for families across Kitsap County! From July 25 to Sept 25, kids will explore local businesses and read featured children’s books placed at each stop along the way.


At each stop, they’ll get their Reading Trail Map stamped or stickered. Complete the map, and they’ll receive a prize — plus be entered into a final giveaway!


This event is FREE to participate in and perfect for summer break fun!

How to Join the Reading Trail

How It Works

📍Pick up a Reading Trail Map at any participating business or download it below!

🖍Visit local “Destination Point” businesses across Kitsap  

📚Read the featured PaperPie book at each stop  

✅Get your map stamped, stickered  

🎁Complete the trail and turn in your map for a prize!

Kitsap County Reading Trail Family Registration

The Kitsap Reading Trail is a free, family-friendly literacy adventure happening July 25 – Sept 25, 2025!

Designed to keep reading fun and accessible during the summer, this self-paced program invites families to explore local businesses, read a featured children’s book at each stop, and collect stamps on their Reading Trail Map.

Families who complete the full trail will be eligible for a grand prize drawing, and every child who finishes will receive a guaranteed small reward!

We’re still finalizing stops and prizes, but registration ensures you’ll be the first to get updates, map access, and prize info.

Use this Trail Guide find all participating Trail Stops across Kitsap County! Each location features a special book for kids and families to enjoy as well as a downloadable Activity Sheet. Visit as many as you can between July 25–Sept 25, track your progress, and discover new favorite spots along the way.

Is this free to participate?

 Yes! There’s no cost to join the Reading Trail or visit any of the stops.

What ages is this best for?

The trail is best for ages 3–11, but families with toddlers and older siblings can all enjoy!

Where can I get a map?

You can download a map above or grab a map at any participating business.

Can I start at any location?

Absolutely! Visit the stops in any order, and go at your own pace. 

What kind of books will be featured?

A variety of picture books, read-alouds, and activity books curated by PaperPie — engaging, colorful, and age-appropriate for young readers.
